After dusk, artist Barbara Wille’s frames now shine on the roof of KAP1. Yesterday evening, Monday, December 8, 2025, the lighting for the artwork “Blickfang” (Eye-Catcher) was switched on for the first time.
Deputy Mayor Miriam Koch: “The four steel frames on the roof are visible from afar – from various angles in the station district and beyond. With the new lighting, the artwork ‘Blickfang’ will also be visible in the evening and night hours, drawing attention to the cultural center.”
The four gold-colored steel frames were installed on the roof of KAP1 in 2021 and each point in one of the four cardinal directions. They were aligned along the architectural axes and the surrounding urban space. The realization was preceded by a public art competition, KAP1, organized by the Düsseldorf Art Commission.
